well, couple ways... you could probably do it somehow in JW although I don't really know how as I have not tried animation in JW yet... but another way would be to make some frames using Photoshop or something, rotating each a few degrees, (use a transparent BG on the fractal) and then assemble it against that BG, using a program like Animation Shop or the Anime PNG Maker program (which is a free prog you can download)

yeah...I was thinking if the BG remained static, but the FG fractal were to spin slowly...

Yes it would reveal colors with the alpha channel. It could be really cool.

yep... I did something along those lines with Incendia a while back... made a strange Sierpinski dodecahedron and made it spin, then put that in front of an old bryce render...
